Utah Employment Lawyers

Utah Employment Lawyers

The attorneys at Crook Legal Group PLLC represent private and public sector employers and executive-level and highly compensated employees in all areas of employment law. Our first goal is to keep our clients out of court by giving them excellent advice on their human resource, personnel, labor, and employment concerns. We review and audit human resource policies and procedures, employee manuals, employment forms, drug policies, and employment practices for compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Additionally, we frequently review, draft, and negotiate severance agreements, noncompetition agreements, and confidentiality agreements.

If our clients do end up in court, we have extensive experience in administrative proceedings—such as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Utah Antidiscrimination and Labor Division (UALD) proceedings, Department of Labor proceedings, and Department of Workforce Services proceedings—state and federal trials, and arbitration proceedings. We have successfully prosecuted and defended our clients in all forums on discrimination claims, Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) claims, wage claims, unemployment claims, and wrongful termination claims.

Please allow our attorneys to assist you with your employment and human resources related issues. Not only do we provide the highest quality services to private sector employers, but we are one of the premier law firms providing services to public-entity employers, including counties, cities, special services districts, school districts, and non-profit entities throughout Utah.

D. Scott Crook also authors and maintains a blog entitled The Utah Employment Lawyer, which provides significant content regarding employment developments that affect Utah employers.

The variety of legal services we provide to Utah employers includes but is not limited to the following:

Protecting trade secrets

Most employers are businesses who have worked for years to create valuable good-will. They train their employees and entrust key staff members with trade secrets and other confidential information. Our attorneys draft contracts that protect employer's good-will, trade secrets, and proprietary information and have years of experience protecting valuable information on behalf of their clients.
